Volunteer Activity: Sponsorship Participation in Kumamoto Earthquake Charity Event

June 11 and June 12, 2016

Mega Global Media Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. participated as a sponsor in the Kumamoto earthquake charity event “KumamotoBoleh!” held on June 11 and 12 as part of “KumamotoBoleh!,” a Kumamoto earthquake support project launched by Japanese volunteers living in Kuala Lumpur.

We provided the cover and announcement advertisement of issue 50 of “Weekly M Town,” a weekly information magazine for Japanese residents in Malaysia, free of charge.

* About the KumamotoBoleh! project

In response to the major earthquakes that struck Kumamoto and Oita Prefectures on April 14 and 16, 2016, and the continuing damage that followed, volunteers came together to launch the project “KumamotoBoleh! — Delivering Our Thoughts from Malaysia. Pray for Kumamoto, Pray for Kyushu from Malaysia.”

“Boleh” means “can” in Malay. The name conveys the message, “Stay strong, Kumamoto and Oita!”

The project is based on three pillars: installing Kumamon donation boxes, holding charity events at Publika, and spreading messages of support through social media.
